Youth Exchange
Applications are being accepted for outbound long-term students for the 2009-10 school year. The program lasts one year and is for ages 15-19. It involves living with a few host families in a foreign country while attending a local school. We are looking for above-average students with demonstrated leadership in the community who are open to new experiences and cultural differences. The first step is to apply to our club for sponsorship. The club level application is available in the rotary office or by contacting David Beck, davidb@brewsterplace.org Deadline for applying is November 24th.

Rotary Youth Exchange Program
We may have an opportunity to host a student from Austria through the Rotary Youth Exchange program. This would be an exchange that would start in early January 2009 with the 2nd semester of school and conclude some time in the Summer of 2009. The applicant is a 15 year old high school student who seems to be a wonderful girl with good English skills. She attends a language school where she is currently studying English, French, Latin and German. Next year she hopes to add Spanish. She wants to experience the culture here and improve her English language skills. We need to recruit two host families; if you are interested in learning more about being a host family for this girl contact David Beck.
The August Rotopeka is online, read it here. Missed Thursday's meeting? Watch it online.
